LeylineBeta

Connect anything. Leyline draws the map.

Leyline is a relationship map maker: add characters, artists or ideas, say how they're connected, and groups form on their own.

Free. No account needed to start.

Editor demo

A real recording of the editor: eight items, two groups, three styles, then presentation mode.

Connected doesn't mean together

Some links bring things together: member of, family, signed to. Others just build a bridge: a collaboration, an alliance. Others push apart: a rivalry, a beef.

For each relationship type, you choose whether it groups, connects or repels. Leyline works out the groups and the layout, and every link reads like a sentence.

A link's panel: the sentence “Orrin the Cartographer member of Cartographers' Guild”, the relationship type and the choice between Groups, Connects and Repels

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a character relationship map?

Open the editor, type a first character's name, then add the next ones. Link them by dragging from one to another and choose what connects them: family, ally, rival, member of. Leyline places the items and forms the groups on its own.

Is Leyline free?

Yes, Leyline is free during the beta: the editor, the three styles, share links, image and video export. A Creator plan will come later, with extras for people who publish videos; the essentials will stay free.

Do I need an account?

No. Your maps stay in your browser. An account, by email or Google, is only there to find them on all your devices and share them by link.

Can I turn a map into a video?

Yes. Share, then Export as video: the map builds itself item by item and downloads as an MP4, in landscape for YouTube, vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or square.

What can I use it for?

Anything that's told through connections: a music scene, the clans and alliances of a saga, the factions of a tabletop RPG campaign, the characters of a novel, a true crime case, a family, schools of thought or the players in a project.
